Slidin' the Blues
Welcome to the music, instruments and gear page. I have had a life long love of music, a lot of different instruments especially guitar. It's funny though, I never bothered to learn to play, strange. My brother has played as long as I can remember but I was satisfied with listening and tinkering. A little more than a year ago, I decided to get serious about learning to play. It has been a rewarding journey although I am still a rank beginner. A word of thanks to all the great people that have posted terrific instructional videos on Youtube.
I continue to listen to all styles of music, practice and tinker. Recently, I finished my first acoustic build and currently working on a acoustic guitar to resonator conversion.
Here are a couple of pics of gear and a link to my online gallery.

I love this guitar; built by Steve McDonald of Houston, Texas. It features a custom made, one of a kind stainless steel shell built to exact Fender specs. Lace Gold pups, rosewood fingerboard and Sperzal locking tuners. It almost plays itself.
Pictured right, my first electric, a gift from my daughter. It is a little student Gibson/Baldwin Les Paul. I have tuned up the pick ups and set the intonation as close as possible with this bridge.
My first acoustic build; a full size dreadnought with a 17" bout. Zebrawood back and sides with a reclaimed fir neck and sound board with an oak finger board.
A current project; converting a Yamaha acoustic to a resonator.
Thanks for viewing!

My goal was to build this acoustic from materials in my shop. I purchased the following; tuners, frets, L.R. Baggs pick up, bridge pins, bindings. The balance of materials did indeed come from my shop.
