Hole cut, as well as f-holes and scroll work.
After some deliberation, I opted to go with an x sound well configuration as opposed to the traditional round well.
My logic is that round sound wells are open to the bottom and sides so...
Found an old trapeze style tail piece that should work well.
Next: Install bracing, cut out backing and fabricate biscuit bridge.
